Her childhood was a turbulent one. As a young girl her mother fled to protect her from an abusive family. Pickler returned to her mom in the year 1995 after she assumed custody. The situation did not work out the way she had hoped. Pickler was reunited with her grandparents at 12 years old. Her grandparents brought her through to adulthood. Pickler had to be busy with her young children in absence of their parents. Pickler admitted she didn't have time to go to classes and started to become a housewife at an early stage. Pickler took part in cheerleading teams at both her high school and middle school. North Stanly High School graduated her in 2004. Pickler had a go in the world of beauty contests.
